What you like most about being a teacher: I aim to have each child know well that we are all one of God’s children and are dearly loved by Him for exactly who we are. He made each one of us and God doesn’t make mistakes.
Your teaching philosophy: My teaching career, as well being a parent, has taught me that every child is different, and has been given a unique combination of talents, personality traits, interests, and abilities. I strive to get to know each student well. Children will work incredibly hard for adults that they know truly care about them. Teaching young children means that learning should be active and multi-sensory. In my classroom, there is much time for games, music, excellent literature, hands on activities, language-rich discussion, and free play. The class day is highly structured with predictable routines and short, well-paced activities. I strive to never have a dull moment. Learning comes naturally to children who are having fun. Children are encouraged to progress at their own pace and independence is celebrated. The classroom should be a place where children feel secure, accepted, and supported. I believe that a student with confidence can accomplish great things.
