Born: Milwaukee, WI

Raised: Franklin, Oak Creek, and Caledonia, WI

Education: I attended Oak Creek public schools from K-8. Then I attended and graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, WI. After attending UW-Parkside for two years, I transferred to Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN graduating with a BS in Education in 1986. Since then I have taken many workshops and college courses including obtaining and maintaining my Wisconsin state teaching license in 2003.

Hobbies and Interests: I enjoy reading, woodworking, fishing, and genealogy. My wife and I like to travel each summer.

What you like most about being a teacher and called worker: I enjoy the opportunity of openly sharing my faith in Jesus with my students and staff. What a joy and privilege to worship and pray together each day as we grow in our faith. I also like to help others learn something they didn’t already know or to look at something from a fresh point of view. The other teachers, pastor, and staff are wonderful to work with, and the parents and congregation members make being a teacher here a great experience.

Your message to parents considering St. Paul’s school: God’s Word tells us to “seek first his (God’s) kingdom and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). This statement of Jesus tells me to put and keep God as the top priority in my life – that includes all aspects of my life including education. I kept this idea in mind as I sent my own children through St. Paul’s Lutheran School and on to Shoreland Lutheran High School. The children receive a solid Christian education that focuses first on Christ and the salvation He has won for us and then keeps Him the center of the rest of the education as we explore and learn more about His creation.
